Wales Veterans' Football took an o50s Representative squad to Kirby-Muxloe in the Midlands and Rogan Matthews' charges ended-up disappointed to come away with just a draw against the 'old enemy'!
Wales started brightly and on 15 mins, a loose back-pass by an England defender was intercepted, and an alert Neil 'Willie' Williams gave the visitors the lead when he side-footed home into the bottom corner. On the half-hour mark an England corner deflected in off an unfortunate Shaun Smith to take the sides in all-square at the interval.
Into the second half and Wales were still in control and on the hour, a mazy Karl Miller run and shot drew a great save from the England stopper but Williams was on hand again to coolly slot home the rebound for his and Wales' second. The visitors maintained their dominance and Wales' keeper, John bailey had very little to do, however, when England broke away and scored with 10 minutes to go, it was the hosts who were most grateful for a share of the spoils.
