Richie Donovan, who played veterans football for Newport, died suddenly on 1st September, aged 51 years. Richie, who was famously caught on camera during Wales' match against England at the 2016 Euros, was a fanatical football man and part of the Wales Veterans' Football family. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and team mates.

On behalf of everyone at Wales Veterans' Football, we would like to pass on our deepest condolences to his wife Nic, children Aimee and Joe and the rest of his family at this sad time. Richie's funeral will take place on Wednesday 12th October, service at St Mary's RC Church, Stow Hill at 1pm followed by cremation at Gwent Crematorium. No flowers please, but donations if desired for The Football Family may be given at the funeral or sent c/o Tovey Bros, 9/11 Cardiff Road, Newport, NP20 2EH.
