Good win for Wales o60s against Sheffield

By Alun Huish

Wales o60s 4, Sheffield Vets 0 Ocean Park Arena August 10th @ 2pm KO

The Wales Veterans' Football Association welcomed a Sheffield Veterans o60s squad to Cardiff to face a Wales o60s representative squad on 10th August 2024 at Ocean Park Arena.

Wales dominated large periods of the game against their rivals who were always a threat on the break. The hosts took the lead in the first minute when mele headed home from close in. Vaughan made it 2-0 going into the interval. Manager, Parkinson made a number of changes during the break but Wales maintained their dominance. Murray's lobbed, floaty, bloaty effort from the edge of the box, deceived the visiting keeper and nestled into the net and Seago completed the scoring 10 minutes from time with a powerful header from a fine Mark Jones cross.

'Easygoing' Manager, Jon Parkinson was, 'conceivably' thrilled at the win, saying "I'm now able to select from a large, really strong squad, so I'm confident we can continue on this fine unbeaten run until the Four Nations next March!"

Congratulations to the following players who were selected.....
