Wales Vets o60s win the inaugural Milton o60s Tournament in Oxford
Wales Veterans Football took an o60s squad to take part in the inaugural o60s Milton Tournament in Oxfordshire earlier today...and ran out worthy winners.
The squad, managed effectively by Jon Parkinson and Jeff Smith, improved game on game, with 4 wins and 2 draws against opposition from across the south of England and finishing a convincing 6 points clear of their nearest rivals to take the trophy back to Wales.
Congratulations to the squad...

England o60s 0, Wales o60s 1
Wales over 60’s defeated England at Kirby Muxloe in Leicester on Saturday by a goal to nil and in doing so, gained sweet revenge for the heavy defeat they suffered last month at Dragon Park.
In a real squad effort, Wales played with hunger and desire against an England side brimming with confidence, but the hosts were out fought and out thought on the day, epitomised by a man-of-the-match performance by Brian 'Broomer' Broom and a winner from the lively Mike Bobbett.
Congratulations to...

Disappointing day for Wales o60s
Wales o60s 1 v England o60s 4
The Wales Veterans o60s were taught a football lesson by a very good England team in their recent international encounter at the FAW's Dragon Park Stadium in Newport.
Confidence was high in the Welsh camp prior to kick-off, as the Newport City Male Choir led the anthems...but England ran out comfortable 1-4 winners with man of the match striker Peter Jones, who terrorising the Welsh defence, capping off a fine performance with an excellent hat-trick.
England scored within 10 minutes of kick-off after sloppy Welsh defending, but Wales' Mike Bobbett scored a fabulous equaliser to give the hosts hope. Sadly a mad 10 minutes saw the visitors score a further three goals to take them into an unassailable lead going into half time.
In the second half England just needed to retain possession, and with the likes of former Brighton & Hove Albion star Garry Nelson pulling the strings, they did so with aplomb. Wales struggled to make any headway in the sweltering heat and they were grateful to their goalkeeper Alan Meacham, who kept the score to 1-4 at full time. England captain and FA Vase winner, Dave Groom lifted the Frank Terrell Trophy.
