Wales o40s v Man City Vets
A Wales o40s squad took on Manchester City class of '92 Vets on Saturday 23rd April and came away with an impressive 4-0 win.

In a well contested game at Cardiff's Ocean Park Arena, City should have taken the lead on 4 minutes, but a great penalty save by Wales keeper Ian Davies kept the scores level AND set the tone for his team's performance on the day.

In a thrilling first half, a brace by Welsh skipper, Craig Hughes and a third goal by Gavin Beddard gave Wales a deserved 3-0 Half time lead.

Eight minutes into the second half, City were given another penalty and a chance to get back into the game but on this occasion Foster struck the upright. Wales then controlled most of the half with Simon Truman scoring on 71 minutes to end proceedings.

Manager, Laurence Owen said he was "elated by both the scoreline and the performance itself". He also passed on his "congratulations to Wales' Carl Evans", who was presented with his MoM award by Match sponsor Chris Morris of CME integrated services. Well done to him and the rest of the squad...
