Wales o40s defeat Barry in friendly!

By Alun Huish

Wales o40s 7, Barry Town o40s 3, Ocean Park Arena

The Wales Veterans' Football Association accepted an invitation from Barry Town Veterans for a friendly match at Ocean Park Arena on 16th June 2024...writes an interested observer...

Although a number of players were unavailable due to holidays, weddings, work and injuries, manager, Laurence Owen was still able to name a very strong 15 man squad. AND in a keenly contested encounter, played under the sweltering blue skies of the capital, his side controlled large parts by the game. Gavin Williams got the first of their seven goals a 25 yard half volley which rocketed into the top corner. Williams was on target again before Jamie Michaels scored a great header after a 20 pass move. Other scorers were Craig Reddy, Steve Davies and Paul Keddle. Lee Stone completed a convincing win for Owen’s charges, who are now unbeaten in 15 months!

Congratulations to the following players who were selected by manager, Laurence Owen...
