N. Ireland lift o60s Four Nations crown!

Friday 28th March
Wales failed in their attempt to retain in the o60s Four Nations trophy, which was claimed by Northern Ireland. Wales finished runners-up in the tournament that was hosted by the Wales Veterans’ Football Association at the San Javier Sports Centre, in Spain.

In the final round of matches, Wales defeated a stubborn Denmark 3-1 with Les Davies, Paul Otway and Pepe Mele on the scoresheet, followed by a scoreless draw between Northern Ireland and England, and the Irish finished top of the table.

Wednesday 26th March
In the second round of matches, Wales secured a priceless win over England with a goal by Wayne Matthews in the o60s Four Nations Tournament. Northern Ireland maintained their 100% record after a 2-0 win over Denmark, and they sit at the top of the championship table with one game each left to play at the San Javier Sports Centre, in Spain.
To retain the trophy they lifted in 2024, Wales need to beat Denmark handsomely in their final fixture and hope that England can beat Northern Ireland in their final game on Friday.

Tuesday 25th March
The 2025 o60s Four Nations Tournament, hosted by the Wales Veterans’ Football Association finally got underway in the plush surroundings of the San Javier Sports Centre, in Spain. Wales faced Northern Ireland in their first match and although Jon Ross gave them the lead, two second half goals by their opponents broke the hearts of the Welsh squad.

England defeated Denmark 4-0 in the other first round match and will face Wales in the second round on Wednesday, whilst Denmark will take on Northern Ireland.
