New recruit joins WVFA Committee

Mike Blackaby joins Wales Veterans' FA Committee!

The Wales Veterans' Football Association are pleased to announce that long serving member, Mike Blackaby, has become the latest recruit to the Management Committee.

Mike has taken on the role of Policies & Protocols Officer and is currently researching funding opportunities for 'life-saving' defibrillator units....for both the clubs AND the organisation as a whole.

You may recall a recent incident at an o60s Tournament in Oxfordshire when Oxford Vets player, Kevin Bovington, suffered a cardiac arrest and thanks to the quick response of Wales Veterans' FA Committee member, Paul Averies, he was able to activate the WVFA mobile defibrillator and thankfully the player, Kevin Bovington, regained consciousness....and he is now on the road to a full recovery. He is pictured here with Stuart Escott from Tarmac, who generously donated the defibrillator and Paul Averies WVFA.

Consequently, Mike will be contacting WVFA club secretaries to ascertain the current arrangements for such items within their clubs.

We warmly welcome Mike to our 'Team' and look forward to working alongside him....and we hope you will also.
