Hosts win Chester Nomads tournament

Mixed fortunes for Wales on their trip to Cheshire!

The Wales Veterans' Football Association accepted an invitation to send an o55s squad to take part in a Chester Nomads Veterans tournament at their Boughton Hall Ground in Chester.
With a long list of injuries and unavailability, Wales sent a small squad on the long journey north to Cheshire and they experienced mixed fortunes. They drew with England in their first game, but lost 2-0 to a ‘younger’ hosts team in their second game. Wales also lost 1-0 to a ‘much younger’ Scotland team in a play-off match, whilst the hosts, and eventual winners, defeated England on penalties in the final.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in a festival of football, and especially Mark Dyke, who was chosen as Wales’ player of the tournament.
