All square in charity game!

Mark Davison Vets 1, Wales Vets o40s 1

Wales Veterans' Football accepted an invitation to play a charity game against a Mark 'Dabsy' Davison Veterans and despite missing 18 players the Wales o40s put a good 16 man squad together and travelled to the home of Undy AFC for a charity match that raised £900 for the designated charities - Velindre Bowelbabe and Duchenne UK

On a very warm day the younger home squad started the brighter and deservedly went 1-0 up on 23 minutes when striker Mark Williams beat the offside trap and finished well. Both sides huffed and puffed but created few clear chances and went in at HT with the score at 1-0 to the hosts.

Wales came out with a more determined approach and skipper Mike Flynn deservedly pulled the game level with a header on 57 minutes. Wales were in the ascendancy and a few chances fell to Craig Reddy and Mike Flynn who both should have probably scored. Wallis had a decent chance at the other end but shot straight at Welsh keeper Davies, and the game finished 1-1.

Our thanks to Undy for hosting, the match officials and everyone who contributed to the charities .
